  Dr. Huyser really cares about her students and holds extra office hours for the FPA assignments. Grading criteria and assignment instructions are confusing so I had to email her and go to office hours to figure out her expectations for the FPAs. Easy GPA booster!

  biggest waste of my tuition money in my degree. learned nothing new, assignment instructions are confusing and lack detail, course is badly organized, ta Carly docked marks on trivial parts of assignments. only plus was the course work is baby easy, once you figure out what huyser wants. i've never hated a course before. i hated this course.

  Kimberly is chill, but not really a teacher and certainly not helpful. Handed out perfect scores until the end of term where she started having unspecified document formatting info; and refused to answer questions (often giving students attitudes). Worth the easy A+, just pull through the cringiness. It was easier w/ the TA, Monica, my saving grace

  Kimberly is by far the easiest prof I've had. Class avg 95 in survey methods. But don't expect to learn much. There's about 10 weekly short lecture videos that may appear on two super easy midterms, and a bs final project with multiple weekly steps throughout the term. This project was a class wide group project, quite disorganized

  I emailed her 4 different times regarding a grade and she never got back to me which is extremely unprofessional and frustrating to deal with. She did not really teach the class much, but it was an easy GPA booster.

  Did not learn anything from her class at all. Grades you down on tiny things such as the format of your assignments. She does not look at content so make sure youre giving her the right format. Overall did not enjoy cause I wasnt learning anything new from her material.

  She was an amazing prof, we could choose if we wanted to attend in person or through zoom. We watched lots of videos/documentaries which gave us a break from lectures (only would be 10-30 min long). No exams but 3 response papers on the videos and readings. Could use a three-day grace period with every assignment.

  Huyser is an exceptional professor and UBC is lucky to have her. The material that is covered in this class is very interesting and Huyser offers a variety of different learning materials that suit the needs of all students. She cares a lot about the health of students and ensures that everyone can obtain their goals. Absolutely amazing experience

  Professor Huyser is hands down the nicest and most caring prof I've had at UBC. She's very accommodating, even offered a 3-day grace period for all late assignments. She keeps lectures engaging and interesting with videos, podcasts, and readings. in this class you mark yourself so there's a lot of self-reflection assignments, but 10/10 prof overall

  Dr Huyser was a refreshing professor who cared about her students and took a collaborative approach to learning. She made sure everyone in the class was included in the construction of our projects and provided clear criteria for each assignment. She laid out exactly what you need to do and what she is looking for to get an A.

  Dr Huyser is one of the best professors I have had yet at UBC. Her Sociology 220 class on Indigenous peoples was amazing and I cannot recommend it enough!!! She is highly educated on the topic and this is displayed through her passion on topics in class. no final exam-- gave us the option to take our 2 best grades from Term quizzes (A BLESSING).
