personality is not my favorite subject but David makes it interesting enough. engaging lectures and a fantastic person. The downside: the textbook is A LOT and he tests heavily on it. Exams are on the more difficult end. With that said I would still recommend cause he's passionate and helpful and sometimes you get to see dogs. will take again.

Dr. King is a fantastic professor and an engaging lecturer. I loved taking PSYC 305 with him. I understand why he doesn't record lectures but it can make the class a bit unaccessible. The textbook is LONG and testable, which was not my favourite. However, Dr. King provides great study tools and I would still recommend taking the course with him.

Dr. King is exceptional! As a student who faced severe health challenges this academic year, I never expected an A, but as another student said, "his name is KING for a reason." His lectures were inspirational and practically connected to the real world. Passionate, accommodating, and caring, I highly recommend his class for an enriching experience

Dr. King is very kind and caring, but this course was tough! There were many reading, and assignments were marked harshly. I would have preferred the previous format with several smaller exams rather than one cumulative final. The TA was also not very available to meet and provided vague feedback, which made it harder to improve on assignments.

As an individual who has a learning disability, Ive never had a professor who had such clear criteria and lecture structures that made it easy for me to learn! Highly recommend Dr. King!

Only downside is the unreasonable amount of readings. Do not recommend this class if you are taking a full course load. I wish I had more time to engage with the course as the material is actually very interesting. Great prof and lecturer too! If you stay on track and put in the time/effort you can do well.

Amazing prof and lecturer! I will admit I have come to realize this as I cram for the final exam and watch skipped lectures oops. As he mentions, to do well in this course is to really engage in the material.. do the readings, look at the study guides he posts, and take notes on lectures. Wish I listened to his advice earlier lol.

As far as online courses go, this class kept me engaged. It's the second line course that I took with Dr. King and the organization and layout all work well for me. Everything is well organized and clear and the content is really interesting. Weekly quizzes are easier than the final exam, but it is open book, so manageable.

Dr. King's health psyc class was one of my favorite psyc classes at UBC. There's a lot of content but it is a 3rd year course and I found most of it really interesting and applicable to every day life. Exams test both lecture and textbook content and although they overlap, there's a lot of material in lectures that's not in the book!

This was my third online course with Dr. King and I love how organized and easy to follow everything is. He provides PowerPoint slides with lecture recordings so the content is still really engaging. This was one of my last classes at UBC but one of my favourites. Only complaint is that I wish it had been in person!

Make sure to take notes in class, textbook is unlike typical psyc texts, much easier to read. Posts articles to read in addition to the text but he goes over the key details in lectures and this was sufficient for exams. Exams are very fair as long as you put in the effort to review. This is my fourth class with David, great prof!

goes through lecture content really fast, something i liked because it kept me attentive. no homework, exam heavy. readings were really long, he had us read chapters of the textbook (25-50 pages each chapter) & 15 academic articles, then took out small details (didn't cover in lecture) from the textbook to put in ambiguous multiple choice / saq.

I took 314 & 320 as online courses in the same term and I recognize that was a mistake. While I appreciated the content and learned a fair deal from Dr. King, these classes are hard! There's 10 weekly quizzes, 3 written assignments and a final worth 45%. Be prepared to read and study a lot, and don't expect a GPA booster.

His lectures are top tier for UBC. I never was bored the entire time, and I learned a lot from this course which I dont say a lot. However the exams are very hard, you are gonna have to read that for a long time cuz a lot of questions is gonna be content only found in the textbook. But I still like him hes probably the better profs I've had here.

Dr. King is a really great prof. He makes his lectures super engaging and the content of the course is really interesting. You can also tell that he really knows his stuff. His tests are hard though and 3 non-cumulative exams make up your entire grade unless you write an option paper so be ready to study hard for them.

Dr. King is a fantastic lecturer and I genuinely really enjoyed his class. I found him very engaging, and extremely knowledgable on the topics discussed in class. I do really hope he starts psych cafe up again. I've heard lots of good things about it and It sounds like a fun time. Look forward to taking a class with him again :)

Caring, great study guide, straightforward and helpful application exercises, quizzes are fair! Lecture slides are organized, Dr. King is great! The readings are dense with details which may screw me slightly on the final, but UBC will have a meltdown without their 70 average so he has to make it challenging somehow. Definitely take his class!
