I LOVE Perry, he is such a genuine and funny guy. His lectures are very amusing and he clearly has a strong passion for education and HR. Comm 203 itself isn't a great course with a LOT of content, but he does his best to make it interesting. The exams are 100% off the textbook so make sure you read it (and don't wait till the night of the exam)!

Perry is my favorite lecturer at Sauder. He is an excellent facilitator and classes were filled with interesting discussions regarding the HR concepts he taught. However, students must study from the textbook for the exams if they have aspirations of getting an A because there are quite a few testable terms/concepts that weren't covered in class.

Most important things for his class: midterm, final, and group project, each worth 30%. You can skip lectures since all of it is from the textbook. Single-sided cheat sheets for the tests, cram as much as you can onto them. Instructions for major assignments aren't very specific, so make sure to ask a TA for clarifications. Good luck

203 is the most useless course ever. Lectures aren't worth going to since both the midterm and the final is directly from the textbook. Despite tat, Perry tries to make the boring content digestible for the students by delivering engaging lectures.

His classes are very engaging and he speaks really well given the lecture format of his classes. While the tests were standardized across all sections (thus was self study off the book), he was reaaaally good at explaining the course topics and gives you an easier time in understanding the lessons. Highly recommend.

COMM 203 is not a course worth going to because you are tested solely on the textbook content. However, I always attended Perry's lectures because he does a great job giving examples from his experience that applies to the course. I felt that this helped me remember some of the content, even though the lectures cover 40% of the testable material.

Perry is very enthusiastic and tries his best to make the course interesting as the material is extremely dry. However, his lectures are not the most useful as they don't prepare you for the midterm or final. You will also not know how you're doing in the class as he hand things back very late. Honestly to do well on exams just read the textbook.

Never zoned out in his 3-hour summer lectures! He's very engaging and brings in so many real-life examples and anecdotes from his wide variety of work experiences. I would intentionally take future classes with him because of his amazing lectures. Grading is a bit tough, but it's worth it because I gained so much knowledge from being in his class.

I've never raved about someone's teachings before, but Perry is the ABSOLUTE BEST. Takes an already dry courseload and manages to make it entertaining and interesting via his lectures. A really funny guy, exams are fair (not based on the lectures much so be aware) if you put in the work to read the textbook before exam szn, 10/10 would recommend

Took 203 with him over the summer. Although the course content itself is horrible he is an engaging lecturer and ties the (stupid) content to the real world. Definitely someone I'd be down to grab a coffee with irl. Issue is his tests and assignment grading criteria are extremely unclear+subjective and he doesn't provide practice questions.

Perry is a super nice guy, very articulate and his lectures are quite engaging. He also responds back to emails fairly quickly. If I had to say anything negative, his midterm hardly aligned with the lecture material. It also seems that he keeps his class averages quite low. Otherwise, solid choice for COMM 292 or 329.

Dr Atwal was super enthusiastic during all his lectures! The material isn't too hard to grasp, but he provides really interesting insight through all of them. Was super respectful towards all students, and was really encouraging. Would definitely recommend!

Engaging lectures but that's it. Does not care for his students, doesn't reply to emails. No practice questions for the midterm, doesn't even post quiz results and takes years to grade our assignments. Would never take with him again. If you want to never know what your sitting at in a class try taking a class with Perry. Absolutely no help.

Perry's a good professor, and he makes HR Class seem not that dry and useless than what it really is. Although, for the purposes of the course, there is no need to attend class. Read the textbook and the slides, and that is more than enough for the class. Lecture doesn't help much. He has no office hours except with appointment, which was annoying

Great guy, great accent, engaging lectures. He makes awesome jokes and always opens up cool discussions in class. Super inviting environment. TAs mark everything but there are pretty clear guidelines. Grammar matters a lot on the reports! Final was challenging, make sure to read the textbook throughout the class.
