Rainy Kerwin’s “A Neighbor’s Vendetta” is a plain story of a woman’s desperate attempt to evade the webs weaved by the wife of her lover. With a cabin in the woods as the perfect setting for building up the tension, secrets, and violence, the revenge is served cold as the wife comes knocking at the door on one thunderous night.

Sonja Richards, a successful architect, is in a relationship with her married boss, CEO Robert Long. Only Sonja does not know he is married. Following the traumatic episode of the loss of her baby and her falling out with her husband, Sonja finds it fit to find solace in Robert. Sonja, however, tries to reconcile with her husband Jason and calls off her affair with Robert. Before moving on, they have one last phone sex. That proves to be fatal for Robert as he dies from autoerotic asphyxiation. Robert’s wife, Mia, is informed of his death by the police. It does not take too long for Mia to learn about Robert’s affair.
Mia refuses to sit down and watch his husband’s legacy perish. Jackie, Robert’s assistant, guides Sonja through her project. The next day, at her husband’s place of work, she brushes past Sonja, who is here for a project. From the smell of the perfume, Mia identifies Sonja. Mia finds erotic texts on Robert’s phone, all sent to Sonja. Two weeks later, Sonja moves to a cabin in Grey Lake with Jason. While taking a run, Sonja notices suitcases inside the neighboring vacant cottage. That night Jason tries to make love to Sonja but she does not let him touch her, making Jason frustrated.
Sonja has to leave for the city the next morning, leaving Jason alone in the cabin. However, Jason is no longer alone, and Mia shows up knocking at his door. Mia, who has clearly moved in as their neighbor with an agenda, pretends not to know that the cabin is occupied by Sonja, who is not here currently. Mia makes her electricity malfunction as a ploy to seek Jason’s help and get closer to Jason. Following a dinner, she quickly throws herself onto Jason and tries to seduce him. Mia and Jason decide to keep it a secret.
What happens when Sonja and Mia meet?
The next day, Sonja meets Mia, who introduces herself as Clare and pretends to meet Jason for the first time. Mia deliberately tries to play mind games with Sonja, dropping hints and peppering their conversations with Sonja’s personal details, which she had extracted from Jason. Mia’s interference in the couple’s lives causes the couple to be at odds constantly. However, Mia constantly teases Sonja about her proximity to Jason. Sonja constantly sees Clare following them, but Jason is frustrated by Sonja’s paranoia. Unable to deal with the paranoia, Sonja stalks Mia in return and sneaks into her cottage to find out more about her.

What happens as Mia reveals her true identity?
Sonja demands answers from Clare for kissing her husband, but Clare blatantly tells her that she has no regrets as the former did the same with her. Sonja is shocked to learn that Clare’s actual name is Mia Wilson, and she is Robert’s wife. Mia holds Sonja tight and reiterates the erotic texts that Robert had sent to her before his death. Sonja is fearful and apologizes for not being aware of Robert’s marriage. After Mia screams, Sonja bolts out of Mia’s house. Jason, on the other hand, is livid upon learning Sonja’s secret affair, despite Sonja’s claims that her affair had started only after the marriage was over. Sonja tries to explain to Jason about the real identity of Clare/Mia. Sonja leaves for her house in the city.
Later, she receives a mail containing a yellow boot from her baby’s toy and a card with doodles of elephants. The boot and the card are from Mia, and she has carefully selected the imagery to threaten Sonja. Sensing that Mia has now grown untameable, Sonja drives back to her cabin. On her way, she tries to warn Jason about Mia’s nefarious agenda and asks him not to let her inside their house. Mia, on the other hand, injures herself and puts the blame on Sonja. She gains Jason’s sympathy and, after a round of drinks, leads him to the bedroom, where she seduces him.

Will Sonja ever be able to get to Mia?
Sonja arrives and finds her husband tied to the bed. Sonja tries to explain to Mia that she thought she was only in for the phone sex and had no clue that it was being taken in a different direction by Robert. Mia leaves after shooting Jason. As Sonja holds Mia at gunpoint and calls the police, Mia tries to manipulate her and tells her that to the world, she is not here. She is in Shreveport arranging for the funeral of her late husband, and Sonja would not be able to prove otherwise. This only leaves Sonja framed as the villain, as she is holding the weapon without gloves.
Saying this, Mia runs away, and Sonja tries to get hold of her. Sonja spots Mia’s car leaving. Despite describing the numbers of Mia’s car plates, the police arrest Sonja on the charges of attempting to murder her husband, Jason. Hason is fatally wounded, and his life is hanging by the thread. The film ends with Mia on her laptop, wearing a smug satisfaction on her face as she skims through articles about Sonja’s arrest. However, the last blow comes as Jackie, Robert’s assistant, leaves a tip for Sonja detailing the car Mia rented from Shreveport and suggesting Mia’s whereabouts.
